I've just watched the BBC2 documentary, which basically refused to answer the question it posed. There's little doubt that Enoch was misrepresented by the Establishment, particularly the media, at the time, and he did bring thousands of dockers and Smithfield market porters marching in his support, not, one would assume, natural allies for a Tory grandee. And at the time, opinion polls suggested up to 80% agreed with him. But was he right? I think he mostly was, to be honest.
