I've managed to have sight of a (now deleted) Tweet from @hackneyabbott:

'Such desperate news that Bercow has decided to step down. Sally was a passionate Socialist and she was only a little bit unfaithful. Several times, admittedly.'

Sally’s use for him is now no more. His knowledge of the etymology of the word ‘archaic’ won’t keep her now.
He should be well versed in that etymology however- he filed his love life under the same quite some time ago.

Dear Lord, ‘Captain Underpants’ Chris Bryant MP is a runner for next speaker.
Got to put him somewhere. Especially if it largely keeps him away from day to day party affairs.

They don't seem to have much of a stomach for a fight, these remainer scum. Bercow, Hammond, Rudd, all quit as soon as they realised the jig was up. Probably want to get their snouts in the EU trough without delay.

I was going to give you a like until I read the last line. In my opinion, he has been a patronising twat from day one!
My memory of his early days is a little dim. I gave him the benefit of doubt in view of the fact I did not follow his activities closely. I will confer with you if you assert he has a history. I think we both strongly agree with his present behaviour.

Never forget that whilst the poison dwarf jumped before he was challenged in the forthcoming GE the otherwise careful timing of his departure means that the present membership of the HoC, those staunch defenders of democracy including Jezbullah, Emily Fourbellies, Red Dawn and the comrades, Layla Moron for the Limp Dumbs, Sourberry, Chuckup Urdinna and the traitorous ex-Tory 21 all get a say in electing the next Speaker.

No need to look any further than Lindsay Hoyle.

Last time he took PMQs he was cheered and applauded for the traditional way he dealt with things.

The current mathmatics suggest they will get more than a say. Best the 'gov' can do is abstain to weaken the legitimacy od the post.........which could of course, become largely irrelevant if we were to move more rapidly towards a devolved federal system.

ETA it would be sweet irony if Bercow's legacy was the abolition of the post.
