Old Salt
2006 thread,
I know it is old, but having a thread so old it has outlived a camouflage DPM now MTP there is still a wristlet thing going on. Small chips but it is an oddity from the past that will not go. That said even SNCO have saluted me thinking officer.
Even better still, wearing the wristlet (despite Army Dress Regs stating that on combat dress the slide is to be used) I see most wearing there wristlet also wear rank on the slide?
I am guessing as most young toms who have no idea what a KF shirt is, would not expect a WO2 WO1 to have his/her rank on there right wrist. So wear both so the lads have half a clue what rank you are.
I'm at a RLC regt where we wear the wristlet in short sleeve order (and barracks) and wear the rank slide during the colder months. As far as I am aware from April '16, everyone in the Army will wear the uniform in the exact same way with the re-introduction of the shirt without velcro sleeves. Whether that includes the wristlet or not remains to be seen but there will be only 1 (not 4) ways of wearing the MTP uniform.
