Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. So, who's got it and what are your thoughts?

Played the demo and loved it, mindless bloodbath fun, exactly what you would expect from a Space Marine. Unfortunately cash is tight so can't afford to get it right now (roll on payday), so thought I would ask for some thoughts from anyone that has played it already.
  2. Adeptus Astrate?
    I shit 'em.
  3. Top game, nearly finished it. Good story behind it and good graphics. Haven't played multiplayer yet. Will come back when I've checked it out.
  4. I saw it yesterday, and wondered what it was like. What sort of game is it? Hack and slash?

I want the new driver game, as the 1st one was excellent.
  5. Yeh it's near enough a hack and slash, killing millions of aliens. Good though, i would of liked abit of customization.

Yeh that driver does look good . I vaguely remember the original on the playstation.
  6. The RTS Dawn Of War 2 is only a tenner on steam at the moment. Serious game, feels a lot like the table top version even though I've only played it once :p
  7. Just watched some gameplay on youtube. Doesn't look cerebral enough for my liking.
  8. Ive already got that, although never been a big fan of RTS.

They need to bring a game out based around the Eldar. Eldar > Space Marines any day of the week!
  9. waiting for my free copy & account from a mate
come on G you tight sweaty!
  10. If I was not aware of 40k I would give it a 7-8 out of 10, however, if you're a fanboy, its an easy 10!

I'm glad GW has realised the potential for putting 40k onto computer games, especially when I think of all the time I spent in my geeky teenage years painting the shitty models and now you can jump straight into this awesomeness.

I have not completed the game just yet as I have just started the last level but the highlight so far has been fighting chaos marines on a bridge with a squad of Blood Ravens lending a hand! A good visualisation of the Black Library books!

Personally, I think THQ should have took a risk and instead of starring a 'vanilla' chapter like the Ultra (boring) Marines, had the main character as one of the more psychotic chapters such as a Blood Angel or Space Wolf!

    Just imagine the execution Kills!!
  11. I hope the sequel features the Tyranids, now that would be a gorefest!

Marines vs Tyranids was good in Dawn of War II but I already prefer 40k Space Marine!
  12. I rented it. It's a pretty good game. The graphics are good, and the Shift play is brilliant. There's nothing like bombing round San Francisco in a Pagani Zonda, [It does cost a hefty 1,000,000 'willpower points' though].

The only gripes I have with it are the campaign missions seem to get a bit repetetive and the vehicles don't handle brilliantly.

The multiplayer is pretty good! It has a few modes, like Free for All and Racing, but I like the 'Takedown' game. Its basically four cop cars Vs. a single getaway car. Its really good fun.

That was my main concern, but you'd be surprised at just how satisfying it is for a button-basher. Might give the online play a crack tonight.
  14. Spent some time on this at the weekend. It plays very well and the graphics and scenery are top notch. Had a great blast online with multiplayer. Death from above with the jetpacks have been perfectly put into the game. I hear the campaign is a little short but the main fun with DOW stuff is the multiplayer anyway.

Looking forward to the upcoming free DLC which will give a 3 player coop last stand style game like the current RTS versions.

This will keep me going until BF3 lands on the carpet!
  15. Any of you lads want to buy some quality porn?
