Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Currently in receipt of a war pension at the 30 % rate for my accepted conditions.
However after being prompted by my Audiologist applied for a further condition due to being hard of hearing.
Got the results back of my claim and they have accepted that "bilateral noise induced sensorineural hearing loss" was attributable to service but they cant pay me anything as they have assessed it at less than 1 %.
Only came to claim because the Audiologist asked if I've ever been in the army as the damage in my ears was obviously caused by noise trauma...
Been under the ENT team at my local hospital since leaving the Army in 1994.
My hearing is so bad now i wear 2 hearing aids.
Anyone with any tips or advise on here to proceed from here..Who 2 contact etc etc??
