Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. I think the latest War Of The Worlds film is pretty crap, the best part of the film was probably the credits.

What do you people think of it?
  2. Wellll.....I liked the heat ray, that turned the civvies into exploding ash. Niiiice!

But I still prefer HG Wells's book for the sheer entertainment. Also the Jeff Wayne Musical, and not forgetting George Pal's version, with special effects by Ray Harryhausen made in 1953(?)

At least it more or less stuck to Well's original story.

But I wish that Spielberg had done it period...ie 1880's New York or London. He can do 'period'. Saving Private Ryan, Schindlers List proves that.

I liked it. Not so sure about turning humans into red spray or Tom giving Tim a kicking but generally a good movie. Excellent to take chicks to.

I enjoyed it, any Spam film showing a 10 year old girl more tuned in than the hero has got to be good!
  5. Not a bad film, I am not big in to Sci fi but the wife loved it.

  6. What about Amistad? That was a "period" film, and I thought it was quite good.
