Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Has anyone heard any rumours of when the auld Vulcan will be flying again ? Been on the website and they have said that even if she does an airtest she will not be flying at the cold war jets day at the end of the month. She must be only days away from an airtest.

Has anybody got any inside information ?

I do hope that she will lead the 25th anniversary flypast to mark the South Atlantic campaign.

The Vulcan Operating Company seem to be keeping very quiet and will be going for a discreet airtest and not declaring dates. I can see their logic as if half the worlds media arrive and the kite goes u/s at the last minute it will be a PR disaster.

Mind you 4 Olympus engines at 103% power as the tin triangle climbs into the sky in Lincoln will not be discreet.

Anything from rumour control HQ would be appreciated.
  2. Well she will be loud if she was heard in Lincoln! After all she is based near Leicester :D
  3. Haha, just been on the website and decided to have a look at the webcam.

Just saw a small lad try and pocket something off the table and get a whack by his dad :D
  4. Brings back memories of the day as a sprog with these flying round our home. Such a beautiful plane and the sound of those 4 engines..............
