Well, maybe not 'going away' just yet but a useful reality check for him. It will be interesting to see how he reacts to this.
  3. You're right. I should have added... eventually. Hopefully he won't find another way to stay in power.
  4. Methinks the thought police will be out in force for a few months and then another pol.

The likelihood of Chavez taking a great deal of notice of a virtually 50/50 poll is, IMO, minimal. It is more likely to encourage him to crack down harder on the peasants next time.

Let's face it, he's another classic South American egomaniac [never mind the policies, feel the enthusiasm] and will do what they usually do ... get the Army and Police to arrange some political advice to voters.

Castro is my hero [as well as that fat Chinese-type thing in North Korea] ... I would also like to be Socialist President for Life ...

Wouldn't you? If you could? And had no principles?
  6. I think he'll be back after he's put his boys to work, as you said, who will spread the word to the workers the 'right' way to vote next time!
mind you hopefully it puts a bit of break on him some chance
  8. sounds strange but I didn't expect Chavez to take such a close defeat so well - won't be asking for my masters disertation back anytime soon though!
