Vietnam in HD

From the History Channel Vietnam in HD.

The film is very fresh, the take on Vietnam as a largely American tragedy isn't. I'm not sure about this thing of segueing from an actor voicing the younger version of veterans to the person themselves, it seems unduly sentimental. It took me a while to recognize the main narrator was William C Hall, known amongst others for playing a bland serial killer and a gay undertaker, that adds an odd twist to it.

All in all though a quality series that is worth watching.
The definitive "Veetnam" documentary,is called "The Year of the Pig",was shot in '67',was banned from being shown in the 'States',until 18 months after it was shot,if you can get a copy,do it!

Everything you see now,has been sanitised, and history rewritten.
