Veterans Agency Becomes SPVA

  1. As of yesterday 1st April (sic) 2007 the Veterans Agency (VA) ceased to exist as the VA, and has now merged with the Armed Forces Personnel Administration Agency (AFPAA) and has been retitled as the Service Personnel and Veterans Agency (SPVA).

    The objective is for current and ex members of HM Forces and their dependants to receive pay, pension and personnel services from a single organisation. The Service Personnel and Veterans Agency (SPVA) is an Executive Agency of the Ministry of Defence (MoD) and is the single point of contact within the MoD for providing information and advice on issues of concern to veterans and their families via the free Helpline service.

    The SPVA will now be the main point of administration for all War Disablement Pensioners, War Widows, Armed Forces Compensation Scheme Claiments and all Veterans Pensions.
