Veteran Gets Free Beer For Life

Britain's last surviving veteran of the First World War trenches has been granted free beer for life.

The vow came as Harry Patch, 109, reopened his local, The Rose and Crown in Limpley Stoke, Somerset, after a £220,000 refit.

Harry, injured at Passchendaele in 1917, said: “I’m the envy of many a younger man.”

Landlord Bill Fawdry, 43, is also offering ten per cent discounts to servicemen returning from operations.

Now thats the kinda support thats welcome......
