I just wanted to warn you off, this is an appalling book. Its artsy, translated from French and includes so many plot lines, some fictional, some real, some to do with Verdun, some to do with making boots. Its about as fast moving as a glacier and about is easily followed as a grain of sand in a desert.

Please do not buy this book. If you don't believe me then you can have my copy if you contribute the RRP to a charity. I'll pay the postage!

Glaciers, nothing whatsoever, in fact the Stubai Glacier is my favourite in Europe. Not just because of the apres ski at Dorfpub either...

Did I mention the book finishes 1/3rd of the way through the battle??
