Venus transits the Sun - live pictures on APOD

  1. Astronomy Picture of the Day (APOD) is currently transmitting live pictures of the Sun as Venus transits across it. It's currently just showing at top left and you can update the image every 15 minutes:

  2. I live in New Zealand and I've seen it through three telescopes at the local observatory. Amazing.
  3. You looked at it through 3 telescopes and you still have your eyesight? Amazing.
  4. I was going to have a look through my binoculars (using solar filters) but we had heavy cloud.
  5. I stood staring at the sun for ages but still didn't see Uranus.
