Venezuela about to go down the tubes...a lesson for Corbyn and the Labour Party perhaps?

So many Venezuala a are heading into Brazil that the locals are getting violent ( even by Brazilian standards).

The Venezuelan economy has been royally trashed and even if the Venezuelans throw out the present bunch of kleptomaniacs and elect a competent government, the economy is going to take a couple of decades to recover.

A scary thought is that the Venezuelan policies are not too far away from those being espoused by Corbyn. We're all one inexplicable election result away from having the UK's economy start off down the Venezuelan route.

Makes me think of the pictures from 30's Germany, walking around with wheelbarrows full of money.
Many years ago a German mate showed me some ancient Mark notes from that era, instead of printing new notes the old ones were simply over stamped. So what started out as a 100 Mark note soon ended up as 100,000 Marks. That also doubled as an attempt to stop the wheelbarrow business.

Am I the only one who fears for his poor country at the prospect of Corbyn and his grasp of Socialist pseudo economics at the helm? This fellow and the rag bag of anti Jewish Crypto-Communists behind him frighten me!

Irony factor 11

Venezuela pulls 'Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?', as the top prize is worthless

Venezuela sits on top of the world's greatest proven oil reserves, but its citizens need fistfuls of notes just to buy a few eggs.

Inflation is predicted to hit one million percent this year in Venezuela.

Before the Government's devaluation of the currency, a kilo of potatoes would set back locals 283,000 bolivars. Even more shocking, purchasing a single chicken cost 15 million bolivars.

The TV show Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? has been taken off-air because even with the top prize raise to two million bolivar, it was meaningless.

It is an undeniable aspect of the human condition that in times of great crisis and adversity a great leader will come to the fore in order to save his fellow man. Maggie saved us from the NUM. Churchill saved us from the Nazis. There is only one man who can save us from Jeremy Corbyn and his home made jam.

The collapse of Venezuelan society has occurred because democracy in that country has been usurped by a dictatorship. This year's elections were rigged by banning opposition parties from standing. The constitution was changed to abolish term limits and introduce the "president for life" mode of government. The people can't vote their government out.

The mechanism to do this in Britain already exists. Legislation introduced by the last Labour government, like the Civil Contingencies Act, allows cabinet ministers to assume draconian powers to amend legislation without reference to Parliament. It allows the government to rule by decree.

The Legislative and Regulatory Reform Act grants sweeping powers to ministers to create new legislation without reference to Parliament. This includes the power to create new criminal offences that lead to imprisonment for up to two years. A Corbyn government could lock up people who criticise them.

Of course, Britain has the protection of a politically independent head of state. The Queen can dissolve Parliament. She can sack the Prime Minister. We also have the protection of confidence votes. That's what brought the catastrophic governments of the 1970s to a halt and ushered Maggie in to No 10.

Corbyn doesn't even have the confidence of the Labour Party, never mind the rest of Parliament and the country as a whole. While he has attracted very many new members, he doesn't have the support to pull off the type of coup that has occurred in Venezuela.

And those who take confidence in that logic should cast their minds back to the absolute nightmare of bumbling incompetent stupidity and total fuckwittery that landed us with this nincompoop in the first place!!!

Same-same Zaire. Eventually plastic shopping bags of notes were just weighed rather than go through the effort of counting out 4000 x 100000 Zaire notes for a couple of beers and a steak.

When was the last time The Queen/King sacked a PM? Just asking, I think that's rarer than hens teeth. One safety net to be used should Corbyn get in and my would that be entertaining to watch.

He would abolish the monarchy, simple act of parliament then President Abbott, Shami Whitewash sure you can add a few more to the list.

Seem to remember when the great socialist experiment in Chile got to 800% or there about inflation the military stepped in sop South America, with extreme prejudice. Probably end the same way in Ven when Number Uno is unable to feed his police and forces properly, also when all their kit is u/s through lack of spares and no money for new stuff the Generals with the big hats, medals and shades will step in, while they still have some fuel and ammo for a coup?

Would the Lords allow the monarchy to be binned?
Would he simply abolish the Lords?
I don't think he's got the guts to try it,after all,we swore an oath to Her Majesty, not the government.I doubt the army would back him.

Lords already packed with place-men/women/persons and self identified, I think a lot of them would vote for who would keep them on the gravy train. A lot would depend on his majority also, would come up with the will of the workers and multi cultural (less Jooz) stuff. Could lead to Civil War 2 though and give Wee Nipy or who ever sits in her seat at the time an opportunity for UDI?

In the UK if push comes to shove who would have the ultimate authority? The queen or whoever else is on the throne? I know the royals are supposed to be detached etc., but in case of a real crisis where the elected PM is going mental or whatever what would happen?

Isn't the risk with a Marxist government that the royals could meet the same fate as the Romanov family

They have enough terrorist connections to at least try
