Velcro Backed Badges

Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. What badges should be velcro backed?
Where can you get velcro badges from?
Is there a need for velcro badges?

    Thanks for any replys.
  2. No.1 all of them.

No.2 See other kit supply web sites most have a varied selection of Regimental/Corps and qualification badges.

    No.3 Most definatly.
  3. I completely agree with the above
  4. Agree with the previous posters.

However, could you do some for comedy value?
I tire of ordering plain olive green rank-slides, drawing a willy on and then waiting to see how long it takes your victim to work out why everyone is sniggering.
Similarly, name tapes such as "PUNCHMEI'MATWAT", "NAAFININJA" or "ISWALLOW" are bound to go down well.

    I know, it's a slow day.

I think you will find an increasing demand for velcro backed badges for field uniforms. At the moment they are mainly used on UBACs but if rumour control is correct all field uniforms will soon have velcro patches on the arms.

    About time too IMHO.
  6. I was talking to some yanks on Telic 11 who reckon its not that good, from problems with all sorts of other stuff sticking to it to badges coming off when they are climbing over/crawling under obstabcles.
  7. Not to mention they look shit
  8. I've noted our Septic allies seem to have developed a love of 'morale patches' ........
Here's a link to the sort of poo we are talking about:

This one particularly worries me ....
Perhaps originated by 3 Para mortars ?? :)

Is there a danger of this spreading beyond the airsoft walts into the real world ?

Some of them appear to be quite educated:

Can't see that its any different to morale boosting T-shirts with similar messages. Squaddy humour and all that.
  10. What do you all think of this commando dagger, it is velcro backed.
When scanned it seems quite dark but it is lighter to the eye.

The magic of the post edit.

    Isn't the dagger upside down?
  12. Damn
  13. WAH...

    But yes, yes it is.
  14. That was embarassing, got some para wings too if you want to gorp.
Changed the first picture to include correctly made para wings.
  15. How much for the wings and the dagger?
