USS Essex taking old warbirds to Hawaii

The assault Carrier / LPd USS Essex carries warbirds to Hawaii for a commemoration of WW 2 war in the Pacific as it be taxing for these to flyfrom state side to Oahu. There will be 14 warbirds goiNG to fly during the event...

That's an impressive sight. I'm glad they weren't on my flick for the journey to Pearl Harbour.

(Eric Brown probably flew all of those types over the years and could probably have flown them onto the carrier.)

I doubt anyone's ever flown a PBY-5A catalina onto a carrier. I've seen a C-130 done

 
Oh they all would ( some possibly by as little as 200 ft, and quite a lot of that as a vertical component.)!.
King Air? Hardly. I'm surprised they didn't cover it up in old potato peels and disguise it with a few dustbins. The shame must be crippling them.
