Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Hi

I'm going high altitude mountaineering in the Himalayas (India) in a month or so and wondered whether there were any issues with using the eyewear (read: bulletproof sunglasses ESS Goggles - Protective Goggles - Ballistic Goggles - Eye Protection - Products ) that I used when last on tour in Afghan, seeing as I need some UV eye protection and don't like spending more money than I have to? (Issues being any bureaucratic official at the airports I'm flying in/out of etc. - lost a few millimeters from one side of them so was allowed to keep them after the tour as they were "damaged" but still work fine IMO)

  2. Pikey.

  3. They're available commercially. I've seen them on Ebay and other sites for a while, so I can't see why you'd have any problems. Well, unless you're planning on packing them with PE4 and blowing things up...
  4. Cant be arrsed googling for the correct phrasing, but are the lenses dark enough for high altitude/ snow?
