Pondering over it, the 2 largest Armed Forces against each other, lets face it, if the USA was really serious about taking on China it would do more than just pansy sanctions, the USA would do everything in it's power to avoid going toe to toe with a nuclear power.

China aren't ISIS, they have real organisation, real firepower, nukes, manpower, tanks, aircraft including fighters and gunships and a strong as f**k economy, even Trump wasn't crazy enough to actually do anything more than try and provoke them with minor sanctions and gobbing off to satisfy US egotism.

The US will never take on China as long as it as a hole up it's hoop, not with the friend's China has and NATO would certainly not join in as the whole point of NATO was to present a defence against the threat from the baltics in my view although this is my own thinking.

It's happening already - just because there's no nukes flying doesn't mean both sides aren't in conflict.

Not forgetting that they can launch Covid-20 or whatever they choose to call it next

Do you speaky da Engrish

"Would it really happy" No, it would really sad.
The fact is the PLA aren't poorly trained ragheads with old Pre-cold war gats with the only serious weapons beyond IEDs being RPG's, a real enemy that would give an actual serious fight... not that Terry Taliban didn't have an edge in unconventional warfare

The Chinese don’t need to have a physical war to beat the US, they are doing it through economics, have been for years, they already own 1.1 trillion of US debt and it will seemingly never stop climbing. As the past year has proven, North America is dependent on China for the majority of cheaper finished goods and manufacturing that left the US isn’t coming back. As long as people want a large variety of cheap goods, the US will never have a full blown war with the Chinese.

Let's not mention wave tactics, the chinks have the manpower and disregard for the sanctity of life.

Lots of shiny new missile silos under construction in PRC.

Still less silos than Russia or USA.

I can't imagine how this is going to end well, and shows an interesting attitude by the PRC to, whatever they think of them ideologically, is one of the world's major players.

'China dispatched a veteran diplomat known for pushing back against Western criticism to serve as its next ambassador to the US, an appointment that suggests Beijing is bracing for a period of prolonged tension with Washington.

'Qin Gang, 55, who most recently served as vice foreign minister, arrived in the US on Wednesday to fill the post vacated last month by long-time ambassador, Cui Tiankai, according to a statement from the Chinese embassy.

'Qin, a first-time ambassador, will instantly become Beijing’s most important overseas envoy. He will be responsible for shepherding relations between the world’s two largest economies as they lock horns on issues ranging from trade to technology, human rights and the South China Sea.'

Interesting report of result of wargaming that took place last October.

It's an interesting appointment. His previous career roles tended to focus on Western Europe and the UK in particular. He's spent the last 10 years in senior roles within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, so he has considerable oversight of the PRC's global diplomatic strategy, but nothing specific to the US.

I think it shows that they feel they are also one of the world's major players and are prepared to give as good as they get.

"They seemed to know what we would do before we did it."

Not a great line for any military commander to spout. Just as well it wasn't live, or the US would find itself with a bloody nose.

So they f*ing well should, the Red Team that was the wargaming opposing side, is part of the US Military.

Like all war game exercises the Red Team is always given unfair advantage in order to test to the max present tactics, make them have a good hard look at what are potential weak spots.

The reason intensive wargaming is going on over Chinese scenarios is because it is a real and present danger.

Recent Chinese hostile actions, including the possibility that the COVID spread may have been a deliberate act, are becoming more frequent, and unless robust steps are taken, the unfortunate presence in the White House of a suspect mental capacity, may encourage them further.

That would be due (if Real World) to US outsourcing all our electronics and such to China, and allowing them unrestricted access to our “classified “ systems.

The Cure to Chicom human wave attacks was Halftrack mounted Quad .50 and Twin 40mm M19's from AA units attached to defense positions. But the PLA cant be that stupid still today to employ such tactics.
