Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. http://observer.guardian.co.uk/politics/story/0,,1800267,00.html

Interesting. I wonder what awards the military officers got? DSO probably?

  2. I wonder if there were any 9/11 business related honours. It created corporate opportunities after all

  3. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.....yaaaaaawn....hmmphhhhh?....what?...oh, just frenchperson on another conspiracy theory kick....zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz :sleepy:

  4. It might seem naive of me, gallowglass, but I fail to see how any Septics could have made any contributions at all to life in the UK in the present day
Although it might be a ploy from Phoney Tony to bolster his position in the USA for his subsequent (and inevitable) career on the USA talk-walk circuit!

  5. Yeah Tony is the biggest benefits scab ever.

Throwing taxpayers money to these dudes, so
as he can have a nice we cushi job in the states
    when he retires.

Any ideas on how to become a billionaire so as I can wipe
liar Blair from all the history books.

  6. I think you may have taken me up wrong Bugsy7 - I was specifically responding to frenchperson's dreary and painfully predictable conspirazoid posting. The Prime Minister has abused the Honours System (and its bigger brother, the House of Lords) to the point where it may as well be placed on EBay for the highest bidder. I am of the opinion that this is indicative of either old-fashioned Labour disrespect for the institutions of the state, or good old-fashioned cronyism (though even by previous practitioners of such cronysim, it has to be said that Blair has set a new standard during his tenure).

  7. If the Observer had been paying attention, they might have noticed that both the BBC and CNN reported (over two years ago) that Franks was given a KBE :

    http://www.cnn.com/2004/WORLD/meast/05/25/iraq.franks.knighthood/

Moseley (who actually goes by his second name of 'Michael' rather than using 'Tad' ) was given the KBE in January, and received his gong at the end of last month.

By the by, Moseley has also been honoured by the French - twice.

However, if the Observer Journos had really been paying attention, they'd have noticed that the Guardian ran a near-identical story in April, FFS!

  8. Can't see how this is news at all, it's happened for years. After OP GRANBY Gen Scharzkopf was given an honourary knighthood, and I seem to recall that a lot of other coallition commanders and political figures got various honours too.

  9. Completely right, its just BLiar lining his nest for a nice and wealthy retirement in the US! Not right and he will of course get away with it
