Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. An influential American lobby group launched a large-scale nationwide campaign on Monday with the goal of expelling the United Nations from the United States.

The group charges U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan with failing to support the global war on terror.

The California-based Move America Forward group has produced a 60-second commercial advocating the expulsion of all UN staff and the shutting down of the New York headquarters. “The UN has become an apologist and defender of terrorist organizations and their agents,” said the TV commercial.

The ad urged Americans to sign a petition calling for “booting” the world body off American soil.

The organization is calling for a review of American financial contributions to the UN, claiming that much of the US aid to the global organization was sent by the UN to terrorists in Iraq and the Palestinian Authority. “It's time we sent a message to the UN: We are not going to tolerate your conduct anymore. We tell other countries not to harbor organizations that support terrorists. Why then, do we harbor the UN here in America?”

Move America Forward describes itself as a “non-partisan, not-for-profit organization committed to supporting America’s efforts to defeat terrorism and supporting the brave men and women of our Armed Forces.”

  2. Yep Ole John Birch had it right all those years ago.

  3. Well if the UN does leave the US the UN should take up residence in Brussels. The UN is poorly regarded by many americans.

  4. And don't forget the Black Helicopters that the UN uses to spy on ordinary Americans...

  5. The UN is expected to back US policy?
Missed that bit in it's charter.
    john in cynical mode.

  6. Can this be done in reverse?

I understand the US owes the UN many millions in unpaid contributions.
