The heart of the site is the forum area, including:
Wonder what they're spending it all on?
Why do black folk get their own budget?
Stuff like this:
Black budget, black helicopters, black projects, tin foil hats.
Obviously the Aurora project is running over budget
An unidentified airman looks over the military's Active Denial System, a non-lethal ray gun that was demonstrated at Moody Air Force Base, Ga. The system shoots a beam of energy that makes people feel they are about to catch fire.
Why not just use a petrol bomb to actually set fire to them. Its a hell of a lot cheaper, and you can be sure it will disperse the crowd.
I might not be an "energy beam weapon" specialist, but that doesn't look right to me. It has a reciever arm, if it were "firing" a beam, why would it have that??
Looks more like a mobile sat dish to me.
I've actually seen this thing on tv. I think it was future weapons or one of those shows. They say it can focus the beam to hit a single individual in a crowd or parts of the body.
I assume it works by microwave transmission.
Yup, saw this on TV a few years ago, mentioned other future weapons ie:
and other non lethal methods (deafening, incapcitating, blinding effects).
Maybe I should watch less TV.
The 'Black Budget' is in actual fact a bit of a misnomer; a red herring if you like.
It is actually the white and/or brown budget due to the propensity to fill the budgetary coffers with funds raised through the shipment and manufacture of drugs from 3rd world countries. Take the Golden Triangle or Columbia for example, with the shipping agents being 'Air America' at one time.
True enough, the money is spent on so-called 'Black Projects', but even this is not entirely true, considering that the USA actively advertises upcoming military technology to the world (partly to engender fear in their opponents on the world stage, and partly to develope interest for future sales). A couple of these would be Blackbird, Star Wars, YF22 etc.
I firmly believe that Brown (the PM) is quite inclined to allow a 'Brown Budget' for the UK Black Ops projects, only this money, it would seem, is coming from Afghanistan. I may be wrong, but it has been mooted as an open-ended project, and it has no discernable benefits for the UK that I can see.
Edited to add: Apparently, some of the 'Black Budget' money is for fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan. If only Broone would get with the program and see if HE could syphon off soome drug or Quango money on the quiet to fund our opps. We'd quite happily carry on whinging about how there was no money in the coffers, whilst even more quietly WIN THE CONFLICTS!
I think the thing on the receiver arm is actually whats emitting whatever it emits that then bounces out of the dish.
On topic: I read somewhere that military technology is something like a decade ahead of what we actually see. Stands to reason with a budget that big.
I cant imagine *Clicky to long but jaw dropping story*
I think I agree with you. I've been out in the middle of nowhere at Fort Irwin and saw aircraft that was a speck in the sky but crossed my field of view in a few seconds. It also left small puffs of smoke every so often. To this day have no clue what that thing was.
That sounds very like the semi-mythical 'Aurora', a hypersonic spyplane that supposedly uses a 'pulse-detonation-wave' engine which produces 'donuts on a rope' contrails, which would look just like what you saw.
Got one of those in me kitchen, what's so secret about that? Or have they invented one that doesn't make baked beans explode
I think you'll find that UK MOD has a "black" budget as well (£4 10s 6d at last count) which they spend on R&D at dstl. Its not itemised because its developing secret stuff. Although I don't think it produces such cool stuff.
