US and NATO’s Turkish nuclear conundrum.

The F-22 numbers were cut, the Comanche, Crusader etc were wonder systems that were canceled. The United States was so focused on insurgency, that conventional war fighting skills and the systems to fight them atrophied and were neglected.
Crusader was cancelled because it was too heavy a platform

Between the gun and it ammo carrier they weighed in at about 110 tons you know how many C5 sorties it would take to airlift a FA Battalion of them?

and by the way cancelled before the Iraq war and recce'd for cancellation before 9-11

You are correct, the Crusader was canned in 2002.

But the newest M109A7 weighs in at about 78,000 pounds with the ability to jump to 110,000 pounds.

Airlifting the heavy stuff is only done in an emergency. Ship it or have sets at POMCUS sights.
