UK to support Paraguay in territory claims on Argentina?

Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. It might stop them thinking of having another pop at the Falklands

  2. I think we should support anyone who has any hint of a claim against the argies. I also think that Maradona should be hung from tower bridge, but thats another matter

  3. Given that most of the tinpot countries of South America like to support Argentina's claim to the Falklands, any other claims against Argentina should most definitely be welcomed.

Yep, I'd be happy to back this one - sauce for goose etc, given that their claims on the Falklands extend back further than their annexation of Paraguayan territory.

  5. Whats it got to do with us though? Really.

  6. And it very cost effective, all that has to happen is that a small proportion of the pear shaped suits at the MOD who make sure our boys have almost everything they need, move to Paraguay to fully indoctrinate the Paraguayan volunteers.

Shame on you!! Obviously your not Officer material

  8. We could tie down at least 11 Argies in Germany for a bit and I'm sure the Chileans would give them a hand.

  9. The British did something similar last year with Spain regarding Gibraltar and melilla in Morocco. That shut the Spanish up.
Edit to add Ceuta as well

  10. Each as bad as each other. A night out in Asuncion basically means the Golf and Yacht Club (in a land-locked country) casino then trying to avoid knocking down the stray dogs on the badly-lit streets on the way home. Worthy allies? I wonder.

Spent an afternoon fishing there with the grandson of their old Fuhrer Stroessner: dictatorship must be congenital as when the boat got snared in reeds it was the gringo in the water pushing it out!

Iguazu Falls looks better from the Argie side but that's the only Argie side I'd want to take. As someone once said of the Iran-Iraq war in the 80s it's a pity only one can lose!

  11. Looks like the Paragauyian govenment is trying to avoid the ritual and routine coup.

  12. ?????????????
of course we should back Paraguay in this claim, after all, the Argiees invaded our bl##dy Islands man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :x

& besides, then the Paraguay Military might buy SA80's then ! :) (yeah, as if)

  13. Well their FAL's are old rusted and knackered. Heck they're still using Garands

  14. Time to dust this thread off again now we have rightly sworn off adventures in Arab lands, how about a strategic alliance with Paraguay to right serious wrongs inflicted on them by the fascistic Argies?
