Over 23,000 ration packs have been sent to Pakistan as part of the UK's wider earthquake relief effort, Defence Secretary John Reid announced on 17 October 2005.

Secretary of State for Defence, John Reid said:

"I am pleased that UK Defence can play its part in the international relief effort to Pakistan by sending supplies and providing airlift. The Ministry of Defence is in close consultation with DfID about further possible UK military assistance and stands ready to provide additional help if required."

Can somebody please enlighten me? Since when have "Her Majesty's Armed Forces" become "UK Defence"?
Is this another example of management-speak gobbledegook? Or is it another example of the present gobment's desire/aim for a republic?

  2. according to the guides laid out for these things we are no longer big enough to be called an army and now fit into the scale of a defence force. I'm sure if blair has his way we'll be a scout troop by the end of the decade.

  3. Do we all get to wear woggles then?

  4. but scout troopts have to have RESPONASABLE ADULTS IN CHARGE

  5. Were they the same ones, do they get frequent flyer points?
