Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. I noticed this on CNN late yesterday " U.S. imams arrested for alleged Pakistani Taliban links - CNN.com

I wonder is this an exception or just the tip of the iceberg? The same question could be asked about the possible covert support these extremist groups get in the UK from similar sources! After all huge ammounts are sent back to Pakistan by those resident in the UK and looking at the huge public demonstrations in support of OBL there, it makes one wonder how much finishes up supporting terrorism?
  2. I think it's a a safe bet to assume that as great a percentage of Pakistanis living in the USA are helping finance terrorist organisations as did Irish-Americans. Except nowadays the US government frown on it!
  3. I'd wager it was just the tip of the iceberg. There's nothing worse than religion to get people in a frenzy. Christianity went through the same process in the early to middle ages.
