Type 31 Frigate

T32 is unknown to industry, so sods know what it looks like.
What he said. AFAIK the requirements for the ship do not even exist as yet - and I imagine the real grown-ups are perfectly well aware of that.

Wandering round industry asking for "a new frigate, must look ally" will not end well.

T31 has a "proper warfighting" combat system. Just not from BAES.

We were talking about this at work the other day, and no one had heard of T32 until last week!

if the RN is going to ‘grow’ Escort numbers, from the current 6 x DG, 13 FFG, and the accepted number is 24 Escorts minimum, with T31 a self defence only constabulary ship, and B2’s becoming fish boats replacing the B1’s, that would imply at least 7 T32.

Good math dude.

Of course it will end well

It is a well known and indisputable fact, ally wins wars.

I have a sneaking suspicion that Type 32 is an already costed variant of the Type 31 from the original design competition.
Nope. The prices were fixed for a set time. This has expired therefore this can't be right.

In addition that would fail the rules on the original competition so anyone not selected for t32 would be able to take MOD to the cleaners.

What is perceived to be "missing" from the T31, such that including it would justify calling it a new class of ship?

A 76mm gun to give it AAW, ASuW, ASMD, ASW, MCM and BMD capability.

Fair enough
So that either makes it a currently fictional frigate or a variation of Type 31 if I understand you correctly?
