Exhibit A. http://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2014/jun/26/trainee-barrister-jailed-false-rape-claims (c) Y Grauniad

Exhibit B. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-bristol-28045679 (c) Auntie

You will note from the Grauniad that Women Against Rape (WAR) (are there any Pro Rape Women?) think that the three year sentence for the woman's attempt to pervert the course of justice is excessive. WAR even wrote to the Judge suggesting that a conviction would discourage raped women from coming forward to report the crime.

I'm pleased to say that the judge took the opposing view.

Why has the taxpayer and not the criminal had to pay the compo?

The outcome of the Criminal Compensation Scheme.

The outcome is right and proper, the length of sentence is the judge's discretion. Those Police forces with specialist rape units are very good at getting the best for victims, but in this case politics has warped the view of who the actual victim is.
Malicious allegations of rape, fuelled by warped perspectives and no sense of social responsibility, make up a good proportion of the overall stats but still need investigating as well as the others. At the conclusion, prison sentences have been handed down plenty of times before, with the tariff seemingly starting at six months.

Trouble is, rape is extremely difficult to prove. More often than not, it comes down to his word against hers.

However, try telling that to an anti-rape campaigner. Most seem to run on pure righteous emotion.

But the ongoing argument that rape trials should have lower standards of proof so that there can be more convictions will put a stop to that, thank goodness! (Don't ask me to back my claim up with fact, I heard something about it on Radio 4 earlier in the week, and anyway, those evil rapists must be guilty so I shouldn't have to rely on facts instead of righteous indignation).
