Turkish AH-1W going Naval

In shades of the USMC, the Turkish Land Forces Bell AH-1W getting transferred to their Navy for amphibious assault

Guess in lieu of the F-35 being a non starter due to the Turkish US relations they need some amphibious firepower and what with the T-129 ATAK coming into service.

cheers

I guess if they need more they could always get Contractors in -

"Red Bull gives you Wings", and a 20mm Cannon...

I know a couple of the Flying Bulls crew and here are my photos of their former mount before it made a hard landing few years back performing at our Helidays in Ipper Austria in 2016.

Why did they keep the cannon (or is it something resembling it)?

Nostalgia.../ make up

But on the flip side look at

Phil's outfit up Blackpool way with their Vietnam era UH-1H Hueys and OH-6A LOach doing the airshow circuit, they bought an AH-1F/S and another UH-1H back in 2009 as I was at Heli Expo that year in Anaheim to see their new toys,

So here are my photos

Only one slight problem the US DoD wont allow the export even though its been de militarized so over decade on as far as I know its still in the states! The stipulation is thatif the hardpoints are removed then the state gov/Dod will say yay but then kills the authenticity....their worry is it can be weaponised again.

The Austrians spent something like couple of million euros/dollars for the paperwork to get their first Cobra over....but in its true form and US Gov did not have a prob,

Work that out,

Cheers
