Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. As I am to present a sword to my unit, I would be most grateful if somebody could recommend a company that provides wooden wall mounts with engraved plaques.

I am in the London area and would therefore prefer London-based companies.

    Many thanks.
  2. try Googling....

    wooden mounts for swords.

Res Ipse Loquitor, and all that.
  3. Possibly not as helpful a google as no doubt intended.

LawyerSquaddie was asking for a recommendation - someone might have been able to help.

    Caveat emptor and all that.
  4. Im not too sure on who would be able to mount your sword for you but make sure they do it properly! I made the mistake whilst i was in Bosnia of getting some AK bayonets mounted by the camp carpenters.......big mistake. Basically there are certain regulations that have to be taken into account when mounting it so that it can't be taken off and used as a weapon. I'd speak to your local police and ask their advice. They might even be able to recommend somewhere.
