Sounds as convincing as a Bliar 'we don't deal with terrorists*' statement.

not holding my breath on that one, there is a saying in my area, " eaten Bread soon forgotten" gratitude is a very short lived thing for some people.

I suspect that the Iraqis tolerate them at the moment because they're a useful source of suicide bombers and cash. Once things change they'll be the first ones up against the wall.
