Troop cadre plumbing new depths of professionalism

Ok, I know there are a lot of threads burning around this site at the moment. I know the Upgraders seem to be whingeing to*ssers. But all this has be brewing and storing up for some time. We've lost our bonuses, our automatic promotion, even our postings!!! To name but a few.

When the troop cadre mentioned this site, alot of blokes, some instantly it seems, logged on and gobbed off. Nothing wrong with that!!! :D

But any way back to topic.

On Monday morning prior to CO's inspection, The troop were informed by our esteemed staffy in her elmo on helium voice, that there would be a parade every morning at 08:00hrs sharp. If you couldn't be there you could inform a member of the cadre, not your course leader, between 07:30 and 08:00.

Personnally I laughed the troop cadre aren't out of bed by 08:00 usually.

I couldn't see this lasting long.

It didn't.

Come Thursday morning. (Not even a whole week!) Most of the Troop were there, except a few caught up in inspections. But Tp cadre? No where to be seen.

The vaunted 07:30 start time had passed, no one could inform the troop that they weren't going to be there!, as indeed did the 08:00hrs parade. It was sacked about 08:10hrs.

They were all, yes all, inspecting the blocks.

This situation in my eyes is lame. You gob off like that at the start of week and yet before the weeks finished you've already shown how high your amatuerism is.

You say parade 08:00, someone in offfice at 07:30 to phone if you can't get. Not there you get charged, complain and there will be evening parades too. and then do this you make a mockery of yourself!!!

Is this a fair judgement or do I ,as an ex-Tp Cpl (in a proper troop), set too high a standard?

Comments please.

c frog

you need to have a VERY serious word with yourself.

obviously had your arrse wiped from a very early age.....

i will give myself 10 points for working out yr trade group - but with that sort of attitude why do you think 'you lot' are regarded as second class citizens within the corps?

now you have to 'work' to get anywhere near SNCOdom, i've already noticed that some of the chaff has been blown away and stands no chance of becoming a sarge - about time you got what you deserve

Heard you the first time sh1t_list. See the problem with us techs is we can work our computers.

Hmmmm me thinks we might be dealing with someone who this thread is relevant to.

wouldnt be too bad if that was the only problem with techs....there's no harm in double-tapping - shame i couldn't do it more often on your trade group, might solve the problem of your over-manning.

very hard to work you out, if you don't like institutilisation (??) why join up in the first place? when you signed the dotted line you signed away your right to 'vote'.

like it or get out.

Sh1t_list,

Why did i join up, i get paid a lot for very little, yet still i reckon i do more than you sat in your ARRSE in an office.

You wannna bring it then lets have a battle of wits, oh looks like you've come unarmed

sh*t list you mong you don't sign away the right to vote it's called proxy voting.

and as techs it is our job to think for ourselfs and identify problems. Can you really expect us to do for one thing and not the other if we believe there's a problem in the way things are done we're gonna mention in around about way it's our job

i didnt mean voting for a general election - i meant being part of an institute where 'you do what you are told to do' you freaking idiot.

oh looks like you've come unarmed
wouldnt call 'larry left' and 'roger right' being unarmed...

seems to me like Sh1t for brains is having a bad thread here! the problem with guys like you sh1t list is you listened to much to cnuts about the generalisation of certain trade groups when you were a sprog instead of making your own mind up. i think that your bitterness towards techs is indeed a manifestation of jealousy. i am a tech and know for a fact that i would excel in any trade group within the royal signals or even the british army. why? because i am professional and dedicated. an attribute to be found more in techs than any other trade group.

anyway, if you think your armed with your left and right then get back behind your ******* computer and keep dreaming like the bitter prick you are. oh and grow up......whinging about techs is ******* boring anyway. you probably been on the same rant since you failed the tech course. virtually an attendance course anyway. well....it was for me.

On behalf of a great many people:

If you Signals people can't resolve your differences with wit, flair and a certain degree of style, then do it the old fashioned way: go to the NAAFI and kick the crap out of each other.

Please STOP contaminating this site with your puerile, whinging, snot-sucking drivel. It's absolutely pathetic and a total disgrace.

The Army is big enough to deal with just and fair grievances - how about you try that approach before posting on here and spilling your poor, wounded hard-done-by breasts all over the internet. You don't see any other Arm or Service doing it, do you?

Get a grip.

Out.

no where near sunshine - more like had enough of all your whingeing and how hard life is for you - which plenty of your buddies have aired over the last couple of weeks.

because i am professional and dedicated
is this your attempt to dis-associate yourself from the other muppets on this site?

well what if we are professional and dedicated. TIT'S like you will always give us grief for being techs. We're used to it and realise there is more to life than what ARRSE'S like you think.

one day, just as sh1t for brains was working in his troop office, a cunningly worded invitation for a tech to do something to better his career dropped through the internal mailbox,

"just think..." said sh1t for brains "of all the people in the world they chose a fcuking tech"

laughingly i felled him with a right cross

....and then ...(more importantly) forgot about the sad loser who can do nothing other on this site than slag techs. WNAKER!

8) anyone want a non-signals perspective? A completely un-biased against technical trades or the signals point of view?

Lets start at the beginning of this thread shall we..

Probably the best Tp Cpl in the world * said:

"blah blah, troop parade, I have no respect for my staffy, blah, automatic promotion lost, blah, blah, blah"

In answer to this pointless tirade, and as mentioned by several others; you are in the British Army, not the boy scout movement. If you were indeed an ex Tp Cpl (probably one of the best too*) in a proper troop, I am sure you learnt that a proper troop only works well if everyone supports each other. When it does not work well, someone suffers; it is usually the petty whingeing troublemaker (ie you) that is then taken down a peg or two...

Then The greatest tradesman in the world, who does more than all of us in his office (again the * is forced to appear - bullshit anyone?) said:

"why did I join up? Blah, blah, postal vote, blah, we can work our computers 8O , blah blah blah"

This gave me a good 5 minutes of concern for the future of the Royal Signals. Such examples of puerile, pathetic young men, who voice the mantra "why did I join up" as if they are doing US a favour by taking the Queen's shilling; when the truth of the matter is they are taking Oxygen without authority.

Apparently such a creature can handle himself in a battle of wits, I suspect they would not be of much use in any other type of battle though.

You signals guys are not all bad, I know this for a fact. I have friends who are YofS, FofS, Lineys (my word not theirs), wobbly heads (not friends actually, i just know one) and System IS plus many other trade groups (sigs is pretty confusing). You are however an embarrasment to yourselves with posts such as these.

Freedom of speech is great, but some of you should consider whether there is any need to commit to the world, some of the pointless comments you make. Seriously from a non-signals perspective, you look a little foolish.

* = Irony[/i]

As the author of this site I would like to say a few things.

Probably due to my post being written as it was, many have commented on things that were not meant to be part of the post and in the passage of time I have come to realise that I should not have posted feeling the way I was. It was ill thought out and came purely from frustration on a number of fronts.

I am, actually, ashamed of posting it. I do feel that I have let my own standards down and apologise to the membership of Arrse for it. As has been mentioned I have been in long enough and in position of Troop Cpl to know a lot better than to post as I did and snipe at my Staffy.

I am not bothered by the three points I mentioned, rank, postings and bonus. However, I know that many within the troop are bothered by them. I know some who don't know if they will be put on the board or not, others do not know their postings or even if there will be any for them. Others lost out on £5,000 because MCM loaded them on course B and not course A. This was merely pointing out the state of the troop. There are many other things that bother them, berets for one, as you have read.

The point of my post was this.

If you order a parade but then do not turn up to it (TpSSgt or Cadre) then how can you expect to punish anyone for not turning up to either that one or any others you order? You have compromised your position of authority. You may technically be able to do it, but many (at the very least myself) would regard it as wrong.

Finally, to all, yes we've had a tizwoz about Blandford and everything that goes with it. Let's put it to rest. Once you've vented, let it be. If you still believe something needs changing, go through the correct channels and change it, or at least try. I know I have.

And it was actually because of somethings some on this site said, Disco and Jumping Hat, Thank you very much (even though you probably don't know what for!!!).

Upgraders, as I started saying early on in this debacle, you have only 50 weeks to go from the day you start. There are very few who like it here on the SEUR. But get your head down and mash it out. Think of it as growing pains as you turn into a T1 and, hopefully, a SNCO in the Royal Corps'.

Let's give Blandford a rest now.

Chocolate Frog, Over and Out.
