Tricia Wall

Tricia Wall, writing about her husband and kid.

Tomorrow, on Armistice Day, I shall remember all those who share my pain at losing loved-ones in conflicts and wars, but my special, private prayer will be for my beloved husband Colin.

He died four years ago in Iraq and still not a day passes when my first waking thought is not of him.

I remember him, handsome in his smart military uniform, smiling at some shared joke.

I remember his little acts of courtesy and love: how he always held the door open for me; how we would walk beside the sea and he would hug me so tight and refuse to let me go until he had claimed his kiss.
It's just dust in my eyes, honest.

Very brave to write her feelings like that, it is also a reminder of the love ones we leave behind and the continued support they need. A bit dusty around here aswell :crying:

i sobbed like a fairy reading that. Brave lady, and many more like her quietly getting on with their lives.

Sweet Jesus thats a powerfully moving story,

well done to that Lady.

The sad thing is that to the right of that story is a story about

Amy poxy winehouse and pete bastard doherty

why couldnt the likes of them die

and the likes of Colin Wall live.

the youth of today will no doubt revere these parasite

rather than a pair of genuine hero's such as Colin and Tricia Wall.

It takes guts and commitment to live up to the example of Colin and Tricia Wall. For many of todays youth it is simpler to live down in the gutter like Winehouse and Doughty.

rather than a pair of genuine hero's such as Colin and Tricia Wall.

Hedgie,

You`ve said it all, very well put. It is a sad indictment of our times that you are absolutely spot on.

It was the photo of Tricia and Colin Walls young son Alex that got to me before I had a chance to read the story.

Incredibly emotive.

Alex Wall looks for his father Colin's name on the Staffordshire memorial

Go wee man - be all you can be and make your Dad proud, I'm sure he will be!

I'm not normally one to praise any British newspaper, but well done the Daily Mail!

So enraged at seeing scum like Winehouse and Doughty on the same page I couldn't get the quote mecanism to work!
It takes guts and determination to live life like Colin and Tricia Wall and to live up to their ideals. For many its easier to live down in the cesspit with Winehouse, Doughty and other assorted filth.
