  1. Hi there

I leave tomorrow for a wander over the Pyrenees end to end, about 850km and 40,000m of ascent/descent.

Should be a welcome break from work and Big Brother, but I thought I'd try and raise a few quid for 'charidy' http://www.justgiving.com/barriegr11 as well.

Particle Woman and I met in the TA and we have fond memories and often think of our friends still serving.

I'm doing a blog along the way http://www.barriegr11.blogspot.com/

    Adios amigos

  2. Walking for 6 weeks over a distance of 850 km is no mean feat! This is a fantastic challenge in aid of Combat Stress. :salut:

Well done and good luck !

  3. All done, but the GR11 is a challenge all right. Most of my gear failed, I got ill and I´ve lost about a stone. It was sometimes very cold / hot / windy / snowy / wet / lonely / scary etc but never boring.

Thanks to friends, family, colleages etc we have raised over GBP770 (no pound signs on this spanish PC, but the beach is only a few feet away, the Sun is shining and I have a beer in my hand so I should not complain too much). Also met some great people along the way.

I managed to update the blog along the way a few times, but photos will have to wait until I am home.
