Train strike sunday 8th November

#1
Just had a call from a mate saying he cant get to London on Sunday as there is a strike on , anyone got any info?

Yes its First Capital Connect, and due to some industrial dispute the drivers have withdrawn "goodwill" which keeps the Sunday service running.

Some bus services have been put on to cover for the 300 cancelled trains, and RBL branches have been warned about the cancellation of trains and any alternative transport.

Its sumantics but it ISN'T a strike as they aren't obliged to work on Sunday they have "chosen" not to.

Illech they would normally cover Sundays by arrangement, like all train companies do, but because of some negotiations that are ongoing they have chosen to not cover the requirement. It may not be a strike but it has a very similar effect.
