Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. In July Captain Blair Addison & his brother Owen Addison and University freinds Gwyn Williams & Thomas Allum will take part in Trailwalker UK.

Trailwalker is a 100km race across the South Downs in which teams of four must complete in under 30 hours! The Team is aiming to finish in under 15 hours.

Over the last few months they have completed three marthons, the London to Brighton Cycle Ride, several half marthons and numerous weekend training runs on the course all in prepartaion for the 19 July.

Money raised during Trailwalker goes to Oxfam and the Gurkha Welfare Trust (GWT), to fund their work tackling poverty and suffering; giving hope of a better, more secure future to poor people and their communities. Oxfam works all over the world; GWT works specifically in Gurkha communities in Nepal.

So what are you waiting for please sponsor them now by going to

Please also help spread the word for their undertaking.

Many thanks for your support from the Long Way Downs! team:
  2. Wow! 100kms in 30 hours.... that's over 3km an hour! Golly!

Must be tough since only 80% managed to complete last year.

An excellent cause and worthwhile endeavour, but please refrain from the marketing hyperbole that you have just cut and pasted into the original post. Although it no doubt impresses the simple civilian world, there might just be more scrutiny and cynicism on this site.

A good challenge, but not 'monumental', hardly 'lunacy' etc.
  3. indeed, Course record for trail walker in Hong Kong was around 13 hours, the move to the "easier" south downs brought it down to 9 hours.

Royal Marine team in first year nearly pipped the QGS team.
