Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Here's a question, if you're going on tour and you've been told you'll be doing the job of a higher rank (presumably because they've all seen the light and jumped ship?!) are you likely to get paid for that rank?
I think not, but hey who know's maybe there is a god afterall.
  2. As far as Im aware it all depends if your OC/CO and MCM have agreed that they need someone to do the job in that rank. Most people now a days seem to be doing things above there payscales but if the power above dont give the say so you dont get paid out the big pot.
  3. If that person of a higher rank is still on strength in the Unit, deployed or not, then you cant get pay of higher rank.
    But with JPA who knows???????
  4. I think the problem is that there simply aren't enough of said people in the corp
  5. if you are filling an LSN and there is no one of that rank within your troop to fill it, then you are eligible for it. There are however plenty of guys doing 1up and 2up so not much chance, but worth a shot.
