Okay soon like almost everyone else in the country if I'm in the country I will be bypassing at the minute it happens the new porn laws coming to the nation, I know VPN will work but I have recently been looking at Tor.

Firstly I have read its site and wiki but I still have questions about it, 1 if it is not a vpn what is it and how does it work for the Computer thick people? 2 if is not a vpn what is the point of it? 3 is it slow 4 will I be able to bypass the new porn laws? 5 will it fck up my current system ie is it slow? can it be turned on and off? 6 how long does installation take 7 will I regret it and should I just stick to a VPN?

And Is there anyone stupid enough to sign up to this new government registration scheme? who will be stupid enough to give your bank details to such people.

BTW This new upgrade is ludicrously slow it has taken me 30 seconds to type this last sentence due to cursor lag., I suspect like others I won't be staying.

Not bothered with Tor, a bit old school these days, a VPN is more useful, I use PIA and very happy with it.

What is PIA? Is it free
You pay for PIA (Private Internet Access VPN), think I paid $33 for a years subscription.
Tunnel Bear is free, but you are limited to what it covers.

If Lawnmower Man buggers off due to his laggy, inferior equipment, browser and OS then what kind of flounce will it be?

Opera browser has free VPN, as well as a free VPN app for Android.

How good it is, I'll leave others to comment on, but it seems okay as a first step to improve your privacy.

Buyer beware etc.

It's bound to slow you down, typing one-handed.

Pathetic.

Gratefully received, but still pathetic

Id stay off the brazilian ladyboy porn old chap.... Its making you thicker than gurkha foreskin after a knocking shop in down town bangkok

Let me get this straight, you are going to leave the country, because of the belief that the fact that you access porn may at some point in the future be monitored?

If I were you mate, I'd fück off abroad and pollute* someone else's gene pool - you dense fücker you.

* - Although by assuming that accessing porn seems to be your primary concern, I'd imagine that you don't get much in the way of opportunity of passing on your genetic information.

Personally, with this pokey, boring, nothing special, nothing dodgy installed Fire tablet, the new site is like fertiliser off an entrenching tool compared with the old one. I just hope @Good CO and @Bad CO don't pander to the mob and bolt on all sorts of fancy slow it down bells and whistles.

Tor takes a couple of minutes to install, does not slow your internet connection, makes you more anonymous to "the man", makes what you're doing completely untraceable and attracts less attention from ISP's and "The Man" than using a VPN.

I recommend installing it on all of your devices. I have no need to because I live in a sensible country

What browser do you use?

TOR is an interesting concept but is not as good as a steerable VPN. With TOR you cannot pre-determine your point of entry into 'the internet', however it is that very unpredictability which brings advantages when trying to avoid surveillance. On the other hand it is useless if you need to land in a particular geo area to access restricted content.

[This bit removed after a few minutes reflection]
