  2. For me Airey Neave DSO OBE MC has got to be in there: first Brit to complete a 'home run' from Colditz. He managed to get an approximation of a German officer's uniform together and calmly walked out the door. After making it back to the UK via Switzerland, Vichy France and Spain he was recruited by MI9 and dropped back into occupied France to assist downed Allied airmen. Quite a man.
