Tony Blair and Col Gaddafi's secret meetings

Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. ".....letters and emails, found by The Sunday Telegraph, show Mr Blair held secret talks with Gaddafi in the months before Abdelbaset al-Megrahi was freed from a British jail.

He was flown to Libya twice at Gaddafi's expense on one of the former dictator's private jets - visiting the him in June 2008 and April 2009, when Libya was threatening to cut all business links if Megrahi stayed in a British jail."

    Well well. What a surprise.

Given that we know that it was Blair that brought up Iraq (bet he'd been previously briefed on Sadaam's attempt on George H which so got up George W's nose) as first orders at that Camp David meet, I wouldn't be surprised if Blair had been somehow behind the North Africa campaign that never happened; twat!! How many more Alpha's would we have lost?

I bet they're wondering what happened, can't breach OPSEC before it's an official OP you frikkin' pricks!!

Oh just don't!! Every few years the FO Diplomats have to ask the Americans to 'work with' the British government. The rest of the time it's quite easy to maintain mutual respect (the picture above paints a 1000 words, 'chickenhawk' or not at least his legs lift when he walks...slouching slithering @#!*% Blair); if the Labour party had half a brain they'd be dangerous. At least the real left has some kind of discipline and order, i.e. GENERAL Secretaries with secretariats. They may hate all of our @#!*% guts, but at least they're not gutless pseudo Fabians. Ironically it turns out to be those very gradualist Fabians who are the subversives, with the real Bolshie @#!*% 's prepared to lend Mensheviks an ear...

(edited to add, without a PhD in Theoretical Physics and Cosmology, they didn't even notice me leave; if they'd blinked they'd have missed it. Seems some of your people noticed my GPS blip out for that Kuwait trip tho'. The UN and Gulf ones will do nicely, tho' everyone will swear I was never there. Relay thanks to that Bangladeshi chopper pilot say...'Huey'...from me!)

  5. Used to flog the Warriors' Weekly (or Worker's wotsit) did you, Nehistan? A more pointless task I've yet to hear about. :|

Still; the nasty, nasty story of our former Prime Minister, treasonous bastard that he is, is being unravelled. With a following wind he'll be on a Thames-side spike less his vitals within the decade. Let's go to work, people. We've lot's to do. (Could've been Orson Welles who said that...)

  6. Not that I'm one to defend Blair, but has any evidence actually been found to suggest that what he discussed with Ghadaffi was the release of Al Megrahi (spelling?)?

The only evidence seems to be the timing.

    Correlation =/= Causation.

  7. True. But, well it is Tony we are talking about Dastardly.jpg Just to refresh your memory here's a pic of him on his way to Tripoli.

Not at all I actually give them the usual shit about getting a job before they try and sell the Socialist Worker. I was once on the front of the RCP's Living Marxism back in the 80s tho'. Caused some raised eyebrows I can tell you!!!

  9. Guilt by association.

  10. Blair continues has money-grubbing, dancing around the world for various plutocrats and despots to shove a couple of hundred thousand into his suspender-belt. New Labour business as usual.

  11. I have never read such a terrible misrepresentation, a foul slur on the character of the man.

The truth is that he continues has money-grubbing, dancing around the world for various plutocrats and despots to shove millions into his suspender-belt, in fact £2.5 million from J P Morgan alone for his "advice".

New Labour business as usual (other than the other Labour graspers watching him with envy.)

  12. Now, now, Mr Tony was just being "business friendly" as usual. Greasing relationships with despots and oily oligarchs is a not uncommon move for Brits of cabinet rank, their entourages and the odd Royal. Disgraceful behavior perhaps but it is almost a traditional perk for their graces.

Under Team Dave commerce with the evil tyrant's Libya was just as eager and hardly more fastidious. After the brutal crushing of the Bahrain rising their Royals are still feted by No 10, so it seems this low old game continues.

That Dave finally rushed in behind Sarko to shiv our suddenly de-rehabilitated chum Qaddafi in a moment of frailty is incidental but it does show commendable mendacity.

  13. Not necessarily; perhaps he was just preparing his own retirement plan. Whilst Mr. Toni had Gadaffi's PR on speed-dial, there was no opening for Dinky Dave; now, a grateful Arab nation awaits his assistance. Should be worth at least half-a-dozen consultancies when he's out of power.

  14. In UK PLC management terms the PM is usually an expensively educated Public Schoolboy earning a pauper's wage and could well be in service twice as long as a POTUS. Eagerly feathering one's nest using the network you've bult up as PM is perhaps understandable.
