What is a Cumberland Pie ? Looks great mind.
As a cottage pie but:

Diced braised beef and veg instead of mince
Cheese and breadcrumbs on top of the mash

Easiest one is equal volumes (not weights) of eggs, flour and milk.

Make sure the pan you cook it in is roasting hot. Use fresh rapeseed oil or corn oil. Not something pathetic like olive oil.
Lard or dripping or are you some kind of Nancy boy.

Olive oil never holds enough heat true but rapeseed oil has too much of its own flavour, better off with lard or goose fat to get that batter to rise.

Nothing wrong with a little Placebo playing whilst cooking!!
