Ton Ups

Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Who can remember the sequence for ton ups and how it went? All I can remember is that it was lots of press ups/burpees/squat thrusts etc and it was fcuking knackering.

It's for some young gym queens I want to obliterate!
  2. Surely I didn't dream them?!!
  3. i'm reliably informed by the green guzzler in the corner that it goes press-up...burpee...jump....repeat until you vomit! Any good or is that the girly modern army version for clerks!!
  4. That's just a real burpee FFS 8O
  5. :D well he IS a clerk!
  6. More than that if I remember rightly. Up and down Maida Gym until basically you'd done roughly 100 of each of the ten exercises (I think!). Trying to remember the ten exercises is hard enough!!
  7. You didn't dream them.
I should imagine goodly proportion of the old gentlemen oh here that participated in ton up's poured themselves a stiff drink and decided it better not to remember doing them after all.
    Hence the stone'y silence.......

And no, I can't remember a sequence, nor do I wish to remember it thankyou :D
IIRC correctly it was 10 of each of the 10 excersises, repeat until near death.
  8. Linky
Just searched and came across that, some fella saying he altered what he remembered to add some cardio. Might be close to it.
  9. A single pressup f/b squat thrust f/b star jump was, IIRC called a 'bastard.'
  10. Cheers Grizzly, that's something like it but just without using weights etc. Time for the fun to begin!!
Not something I enjoyed doing though!
  11. This:

decline pushups (ie feet on bench)
    dorsal raises
    knees to chest jumps
    tricep dips on a bench
chin ups or pull ups (alternate)

    VS this:

    # Wide Arm Push Ups
    # Single leg V sits
    # Gun drills (jumping lunges)
    # Dive bomber Press Ups
    # Double leg V sits
    # Squat Jumps
    # Burpee
    # Bastardo (burpee with a press up)
    # Twist sit Ups
    # Bouncing Bomb Press Ups

    I know which wins there

Would vary the latter though, a little too orientated on the same muscle grouping and usage patterns.
