  1. Got a job interview on Monday and whilst I can answer most of these OK I could be doing with some tips/pointers on the following below

    Results Orientation
    Problem solving
    Decision Making
    Customer Focus
    Team Leadership
    Managing Change
  2. Ask yourself what have you done in your current job that showcase what you just mentioned?
  3. Break down your answer using the STAR technique.

    Situation, Task, Action, Results

Allot 5%. 15%. 70%. 10% of time respectively. Your total answer should be no longer than 4 minutes long. The reason you give so much time to Action rather than Results is because they want to see what you are capable of, what your experience is. Whilst results are important you do not always have total control over them. Eg you may be leading a project but the funding is then withdrawn which drastically affects the result but not through your doing. Hope that makes sense and good luck with the interview.
  4. Be absolutely clear on what you did. I always watch out for comments like: "member of the team that did..."; that just says tea boy. Remember you are selling yourself so emphasise your contribution to any activity. Good luck.
