Time to go on the run?

Morning guys,

I've just received this little doozy:

Hi, this account is hacked! Change your pswd right this moment!
You probably do not know anything about me and you really are probably wondering for what reason you're receiving this email, right?
I'm ahacker who burstyour emailand devicestwo months ago.
You should not try to get in touch with me or alternatively look for me, it is definitely not possible, since I directed you an email from YOUR own hacked account.
I have developed malware on the adult videos (porno) website and guess you enjoyed this website to enjoy it (you realize what I mean).
When you have been keeping an eye on movies, your browser started out functioning as a RDP (Remote Control) that have a keylogger that provided me permission to access your screen and web camera.
After that, my software programobtainedall data.
You have typed passcodes on the online resources you visited, and I intercepted them.
Needless to say, it's possible to change each of them, or perhaps already modified them.
Even so it does not matter, my program renews it every 5 minutes.
What did I do?
I compiled a reserve copy of the system. Of each file and contact lists.
I created a dual-screen record. The 1 part shows the video that you were observing (you've got the perfect preferences, huh...), the 2nd part presents the recording from your own camera.
What actually must you do?
Well, I believe, 1000 USD will be a good price for our very little secret. You'll do the payment by bitcoins (if you do not recognize this, search “how to purchase bitcoin” in Google).
My bitcoin wallet address:
169pAUDXa9VbbcrExzUThESrMnfWRL6BAh
(It is cAsE sensitive, so just copy and paste it).
Attention:
You will have 48 hours to send the payment. (I built in an unique pixel in this e-mail, and right now I understand that you've read through this email).
To monitorthe reading of a letterand the actionsinside it, I installeda Facebook pixel. Thanks to them. (Anything thatis appliedfor the authorities may also helpus.)

If I fail to get bitcoins, I will certainly send your videofile to all your contacts, including relatives, colleagues, etcetera?

It was actually sent from my own account so clearly been compromised. I could happily take my computer into PC World to have it fixed without worrying about if plod will be there to meet me when I pick it up so not overly concerned about my "gentleman's collection" and I also think any footage from my camera would be a bit boring as well but even so, bit of a ******* liberty so not very happy. Anyone here come across anything similar?

I had a very similar message a few months ago threatening to send my browsing history and webcam footage to my contact list. Like you I was a bit miffed at the affront. Until I stopped and realised that I don't have a webcam and have never compiled a contact list.
The only difference is that the email came from an anonymous e mail address so I ignored it as the pishing that it was. Yours sounds to be a little more sophisticated. I'd ask a few tech gurus if it's possible to "mirror" your own email address back at you?

I'm on it mate- bit disconcerting got to admit though my facial expressions on the vinegar strokes don't change that much do going to be a very boring video.

#4
Ask if he can do you mate's rates on four dozen copies in HD for those not on your contact list.

#6
Don't worry about it, mate, webcams don't come fitted with macro lenses - none of your contacts will be able to see what you're fumbling with.

I've seen several of these and similar - even my wife got one. The biggest risk was probably opening the email itself.

It won't have come from your email account, the sending address will have been spoofed.
What they said. One of our IT department's favourite ways to waste time is sending emails to all staff that are from a fake address (but looks authentic) asking for everyone's password to see who is gullible enough to do so.

Had several of these, and also realised I don't have a webcam either. Poor effort at phishing, and the real info on the actual email address will be embedded in the header data of the email. Delete it, forget about it. :)

I got several of these, which is worrying because a) I don't have a web cam and b) I don't watch internet porn (if people would stop sending me dodgy videos of themselves I might have the time to watch some though).

Being back the African millionaire please, I am due a fortune from him. And he never sends me dodgy photos.

its not been sent from your own computer, just hover around the email address and you will see where it came from, very easy to do so, even though Ive had this its awesome if they want to use the web-cam that I don't have. Its a standard email. Ignore it, change your password if you want to its total bollox.

It is gen.

I think it's time to bite the bullet. They've got you bang to rights.. If I was in your position, my ass would be wide as a 50p coin, and I'd be getting the wallet out.

Respond, Bogie Bear! Respond before it's too late!
