Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. I've got one and a half years before my time bar will allow me to sign off. But I'm desperate to get out ASAP. My rank and trade are in excess, but I've still been refused permission to sign off. HELP. Any ideas / advice on overriding a time bar or other ways of getting out early with minimum penalty ( or even a significant penalty - I don't mind!!)
  2. Why are you so desperate to get out?

A bit extreme but failing CDT seems to work!
  4. They wont let you - they want their return of service for whatever course incurred the time bar. If your flush, you could offer to repay back the cost of the training - but that'll be expensive. I've heard loads of "Time bars are not worth the paper the're written on" over the years, but i've never seen anyone challenge one and succeed. Discuss it with your chain of command. If the CO fcuks you off, its unlikely to happen.
