Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Book written by David Bellavia.

Basically, it's our friends the Septics in Fallujah in November 2004.
Found it very powerful and intense.
Truth be told, I couldn't put it down.

    Anyone else read it?
  2. Read it too, I like the bit about the insurgent in the house having perfect teeth while theirs were all like toffee popcorn

Good read. He is somewhat nails to say the least. A real insight to a modern day urban battle with WWII level overtones. Whilst I am serving, I have never been onvolved in something like he went through. A must read for military personnel IMHO.
  4. enjoyed it but did wonder about the part where he goes back in (when he didn't need to) and ends up having a knife fight though...
