Tomorrow and Sunday, that nice Mr.Lidl is knocking out bags of mussels in garlic or wine sauce for half price at 99p. A great way to do them is start off a pan of pasta for 2, then gently fry 6 finely chopped spring onions and a clove of garlic in a little olive oil till soft, add a couple of fine chopped tomatoes and a glass of white wine, a little freeze dried parsley, boil up until thick. By then the pasta should be cooked, drain, then add the mussels to the tomato mix, cook for about 4 minutes, then serve on the pasta. If you think the mussels won't be enough throw in a handful of defrosted prawns to simmer in the mix at the same time as the mussels...... Boun appetito. They last over a week in the fridge, but at that price I'll throw a fewbags in the freezer.
