Went up to Lichfield on Monday and was deferred with a heart murmur (broke my heart - literally) but thought nothing of it as it's quite common and they were quite reassuring saying that 98% of the time it's ok. Had an appointment to see sepcialist on Tuesday and all of a sudden they tell me I have an bicuspid aortic valve, big slap in the face. Anyways I phoned AFCO and they said don't give up hope, but I'm pretty sure that's a definite fail right? It says 'normally graded a P8', does anyone know someone that's managed to get in through appealing? So gutted it's unreal, wasn't expecting it but I just gotta take it on the chin and look at other options. Maybe travelling.
