I think that your first sentence is most likely correct, but it works indoors, either on the stove element or a gas cooker equally as well.
Yes completely agree . Just needs a naked flame from a gas cooker .
Or an open fire inside or outdoors . It is just what they are listed as .

YouTube vlogs and channels that use text-to-speech technology. The second I hear a warbling, robotic I-speak-your-weight machine delivery, it gets switched off.

I forgot to add before that safety and PPE policy on most big sites and definitely for HS2 is set by the Principal Contractor (or whatever they’re called in current CDM speak). The archaeologists will have little to no say in the matter.

Correct. Still known as Principal Contractor. I've turned up to site mit hi viz, safety helmet and boots and still been required to don safety glasses and gloves before accessing the site.

It's down to the PC to manage H&S on their site for their own guys and anyone who visits. Their site, their responsibility under H & S Law.

Some of the justification used is that it's hard enough getting some of their own guys to wear PPE, so if others are visiting and don't wear it, it'll make it even harder.

It goes to the realms of madness though.
I remember when Birmingham New St station was having its refurb.
It was the height of summer & a bloke who was basically a security guard & stopping anyone entering the building/work area was top to toe in hi-viz, boots, hard hat, gloves & glasses.
I asked him why. ‘Site rules’.

I pointed out that it was completely stupid, as there were passengers walking by with kids in pushchairs etc, no more than a foot away.
He just shrugged.
There’s no room for common sense in H&S & that’s why blokes point and laugh at it so much.
There’s room for H&S at work & the people who are really into it often point to stats from the 1950s to today. They’re correct to a degree, but sometimes it just makes you want to scream ‘Oh FFS!!’.

One of my jobs on a small construction site was to ensure visitors to the site complied with the companies PPE rules while on site .
Most complied but there were a few rows also . Those that did not want to comply were asked to stay in their vehicles or asked to leave the site .
Best bit though was when I was in my office doing some paperwork when the companies top Health & Safety bloke visited and gave me a bollocking for not wearing gloves :-D
I think that may have been in fun though as after me saying a few choice words I found him quite friendly .

I think the issue there is reasonable application of H&S regime. Trouble is where does one draw the line, as always.

I used to give seminars to clients on the CDM Regs, (what's that? some of them asked).

Anyway, as part of my research for getting material, came across this video. Look at it now and wonder how many working practices would draw sharp intakes of breath now:

whops video now unavailable. I'll post it when i find a suitable link.

It did amuse me that the ugly primadonna got hoofed from Oz.
BUT,
the Biotechnology company specialises in non-convential techniques, developing proteins which "vibrate" to kill the viruses, and according to the scientific journals, complete coddswallop. It's just another example of his refusal to accept scientific evidence.

Indeed. And what raised an eyebrow was the chap in the flat cap walking on the low height parapet of the multi storey dropping of buckets of stuff along the edge, seemingly just for the cameraman. Just wouldn't be allowed now.

There were a few scenes that had me cringing a bit , thinking 'what if ?'

She bought a new Kindle the other week. Her fifth. She will keep on knacking them. Hey-ho.

When it arrives she goes to plug it in with her old charger cable. "It won't fit, they've sent me the wrong Kindle". So I have a look and lo and behold the Kindle now has a USB-C socket, not whatever her old one was. Hence why the old cable "wouldn't fit".

She looks in the box, "Oh here's a cable", which - amazingly - fits in the new Kindle.

Now you might be thinking at this point that it's SWMBO that is irritating me. Which she is but I'm used to that (gibber, twitch). No, she then moaned that the new cable was a bit short. So I ordered her a longer one from Amazon.

Everything at Maison Scum is now sweet and lovely.

Apart from the numerous emails from Amazon offering me USB-C cables.

I'VE JUST FCUKING BOUGHT ONE, WHY WOULD I WANT ANOTHER LESS THAN A MONTH AFTER I'D BOUGHT ONE YOU FCUKING MONGS?
