Things that irritate me

The heavy inference contained in your post 90 6th September.
Never mind..I guess there's more pressing matters for us all these days.

The post is this one. You will see that I ask if there is any news of the paddle steamer, express hope that she can be repaired, and also that I hope that if the answer is that she cannot be repaired then alternatives to scrapping are considered.

I also pointed out that people are poor at judging the speed of something coming towards them, as it will appear to speed up as it gets nearer.

The good Lady and myself have been looking at camper porn for the last couple of months. We are looking at selling the Frankia (3.85 tonnes) and buying something a bit lighter and a newer model(under 3.5tonnes), as I am slowly approaching my 70th birthday and facing yearly medicals , with all the problems having heart disease, new valve, stents and other age related faults , basically I am falling to bits and wearing out

And at least twice a day I read things like, quote [ Nice clean van , 30k miles 4 birth ] quote

IT'S FUCKING BERTHS! you fucking retards!

How much death and disorder is it causing in Africa, where the PRC are involved heavily?
Moot point. But then we wouldn’t know. I searched several news channels but nada zilch nichts . We are so engrossed with calls for centralised planning (odd considering where devolution has taken us, or a tacit recognition of failure). The alternative is a hoax of ginormous proportions. What’s telling for me is media have ceased asking why just concentrating on the failure of Boris, but unsurprisingly coming up with no alternatives. This is all supposedly have been planned for, exactly how is unclear. “Yep gentlemen the Chinese will launch Covid next year, so get ready.”

I have been having mild heart attacks when looking an the prices of Motor Homes and Camper vans since this Covid bollocks. Supply and demand at its finest.
you wanna buy good clean van meesta velly good nick to birth to travel seat, yours for bargain 22 thousand of you Eengleesh pounds, ( come weeth loundabout guarantee, valid til first loundabout)

Six instead of sixth - as in 'he was the six one across the line'
'fifth' spoken 'fiff'
Both occur a lot on BBC news, or at least did up until mid-June, which is when we stopped watching it.

Finally, one from work - I blame whoever writes the software for Kerridge

'Service to maufacture's schedule' instead of 'service to manufacturers schedule'

Which reminds me, is it “shedule” or “skedule” ?

I am perfectly aware of which post it was. As I pointed out back then with around 150 others including dock operatives and a seasoned marine engineer ( paying passenger) behind me bracing themselves..and were "there" as with respect you were not. Perhaps the chopper crews who airlifted the injured, dock crews, Police, Fire Brigade and Ambulance service would have something to say about the veracity of the event as well.....

I never disputed any of that. I simply said that eye witness frequently struggle to gauge the speed of moving objects. It would not take much speed to cause serious injuries - people knocked over. Think about Newton's Second Law of Motion.

Please stop putting words into my mouth, and wait for the MAIB report.

An Afghan is a ******* hound.

:)As is a Saluki, both somehow declared Halaal, as told me in Tobruk many years ago, a Saluki is not a dog, if it was, it would be Haram, which it is not, therefore Saluki is not a dog.

Alcohol.

Has been known to impair judgement.

I seem to remember an experiment regarding (testosterone/cortisol/something?) blood levels indicating the average female would need to drink 2 double spirits to get to the level of the average male.
And Jack Monroe (cook/campaigner) on taking testosterone 'I was randy and hungry all the time'.
