The writing / inscription on the QDJM medal

Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Having got my QDJM and mounted it, I noticed there's some very, very small writing / something underneath the Queen's head. Without having to visit my mum and search her house to get a bloody magnifiying glass - Anyone able to tell me what it is?
  2. I haven't perused the DJM to closely, bu the GJM has the designers initials tucked in between the edge and her shoulder. Bloody hard to spot without something relatively powerful.

edit - just been looking at some images, I think it's IRJ, the same on both medals. The DJM is much more visible though, the GJM is right inside a crack. I remember seeing some high res photos on a medal forum but I can't find them.
  3. I thought it looked like IRB.
  4. Ah yeah, quite correct. Ian Rank-Broadley.
  5. I had thought that I was mistaken, as Google showed nothing relevant in the first ten pages of "irb" and "medal".
  6. Cheers for that - Yeh I've checked out Ian's website and obviously he whacks him name on everything and who can blame him!
